Education Projects

High School

After teaching plant-based foods education programs for our public libraries, I stepped over into K-12 education. I went back to the same high school I graduated from forty years ago. I walked into the principal’s office and asked his secretary if I could start a vegan club, that’s how it all started! I was connected with the school’s grant funding to support after school enrichement programs, then other schools found out I was hosting vegan clubs every day of the week! Grant funding helped reach thousands with culinary labs  and food sampling events that helped raise student awarness to the benefits of plant-based living.

Programs help build skills, knowledge, and abilities that promote a lifetime of consumer choices that benefit our health, the planet, and animals.  Programs also offer students career exploration in the new green economy through studies of some of the fastest growing food companies and surveys of exciting new career opportunities that support plant-based living.
